This initial draft of Surrounded is from October 2012. It was plucked in a small room by an insomniac, stated in the scratch lyrics, “cast to the dawn.” It was the in-between hours & I was trying to be quiet & just get a simple rough of a picking pattern. Surrounded is one of a handful of songs that came at once with this beater.
The final version, which appears on the 2013 album Surrounded, was recorded a few months later with most of the scratch intact, but none of the no-name.
