Hi.
Today I’m sharing the first from a stable of songs written since 2013 & intended for albums that, for a compound of reasons, were never completed.
This postcard’s initial example is called Trust & can be found sans the usual paywall at the end of this post.
Trust & about a dozen other songs were meant to be a 2015 album working-titled as No., then a 2018 collection dubbed Removed, then, well, everything was put on hold — & still is. I’m glad that I have EXTRACTIONS at my disposal now to give them somewhere to go. This is where all old & new material will exclusively live in the meantime since I don’t see myself releasing an actual album anytime soon, unless I do eventually & call it Anytime Soon. Think of it as an experience similar to going to an animal shelter & playing with lost-&-found rascals that can only be temporarily adopted.
What also never happened was a 2020 tour to promote the vinyl reissue of dents and shells & a 2021 jaunt to push my Black Sparrow Press publication Cuttings from the Tangle. Unlike the above-mentioned home demos, these creations can be privately acquired, along with a few quirky perks, via the following POPUP SHOP:
dents and shells: originally released 2004 & reissued 2019 on white vinyl
1 A Chance Counsel (4:50) 2 Firsts (3:04) 3 Invitation (3:57) 4 Straight (2:16) 5 Her (4:58) 6 Charmers (3:11) 7 Fuse (3:26) 8 Rafters (2:50) 9 Picture Day (2:07) 10 As The Waves Will Always Roll (3:53)
Includes a signed LP, an EXTRACTIONS canvas tote & personalized Thank You card.

This bundle of joy includes the white vinyl reissue of dents and shells, plus a signed limited first edition of Cuttings from the Tangle that features a cloth spine. These copies are not part of the numbered edition, which sold out in 2020, but one of my personal copies. They also come with a tote & card.

Both packages include US postage. Apologetically, these orders can only be mailed within my offensive political borders.
Okay, here’s the music portion:
This recording is on the house for the time-being, so feel free to “listen in” as the song goes: Trust (lost-&-found home recording #1).
Look the other way, trying not to follow possessions, out of place, drawn on false horizons meant to get their start shrouded by the omens who show up as they are, with nothing to confess wishing they could blame it on something else instead of shaking in a clearing opened from the rough waiting to be chosen, leaving it to trust. Growling from the din, echoes only sent to let you listen in overheard in silence what preludes never said, setting into motion what it wasn’t even then slurring from the ashes the gathered had arranged, but history has spoken: look the other way.

Looking forward to new-ish music arriving via this channel! ✨
