Sleep/Go (lost-&-found home recording #13)
Sleep was one of a trio of songs (including Willow & Lost) written around 2007 with a commissioned score in mind.
It didn’t make the cut & was left with provisional lyrics until 2012 when it was redone as Go for the 2013 album Surrounded.
The pump organ used on this first draft was delivered in a cardboard box about twenty years ago.
It came with a letter where the writer told it was bought in the 1920s for her sickly little brother who would play it outside to try & keep up his strength.
